AI can now generate characters, products, props, environments, and other 3D assets in minutes. But generating the basic shape is only part of the process. For close-up renders, games, animations, product visualizations, visual effects, AR, and VR, a model also needs detailed geometry and realistic textures that remain consistent when viewed from different angles. Hyper3Dβs Rodin Gen-2.5 introduces what the company describes as the worldβs first native 12K texture for AI-generated 3D models. In this video, I test the complete process by generating a detailed 3D portrait from front and back reference images. I chose an elderly man with wrinkles, pores, age spots, skin imperfections, and beard stubble to see how well the model preserves fine details during close-up inspection.
